Notes:
The Trinity Homes at Walmer, Kent provide warden-assisted, self-contained retirement accommodation for needy mariners, their wives/widows and dependant children. Applicants must normally not be less than 60 years of age, be a British subject, have at least 15 years as a Navigating, Engineer or Radio Officer or Purser and be able to demonstrate financial need. Scholarships are awarded to enable cadets to qualify as Deck or Engineer Officer in the Merchant Navy. Training and scholarships are normally of 3-4 years duration. Charitable grants are available for registered charities whose aims and objectives are compatible with those of Trinity House, i.e. for the advancement of education, safety and welfare of mariners or safety of shipping generally.
